Frequently Asked Questions

»Can I store anything other than a boat at Dana Point Marine & Storage?

Absolutely!  We store all kinds of marine vehicles, from 50' boats to jet skis.

»What is your storage rate?

Our rate is $7.50 per linear foot (from your engine to your hitch) per month ($125 per month minimum, 9' width maximum).

»What should I have with me in order to rent a space?

You will need a picture ID, credit card (if paying with a credit card), registration or sales contract for the vehicle to be stored (showing VIN, license #, and ownership), and a copy of your insurance.

»Can there be more than one person listed on the contract?

Yes; any and all owners of the vehicle to be stored need to be listed on the contract (and only the owner(s) of the vehicle to be stored may be listed on the contract).

»May I have a storage box in my storage slip?

Yes, however this will add to the length of area leased, and the boat must be small enough to provide the necessary space.

»Do you accept checks for payment?

Yes, but please note there is a $30 fee for returned checks and an additional deposit.

»How is the storage area secured?

Boat slips are secured behind a locked metal gate.  Clients must show proof of ID in order to their boat moved from its slip.

»When can I take out my boat?

You can access your vehicle any time during our operating hours.  We are open 7 days a week (excluding Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the winter and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the summer.

»Can I work on or wash my vehicle while it's in the storage area?

No, however we will happily move your vehicle to the cul-de-sac immediately in front of the premises to work on or wash there.

»Do you have a dump station, wash station, electricity, or water?

No, no, no, and no.

»Do you send out monthly bills?

Monthly bills are sent to customers paying by check, however customers should not rely solely on them to submit payments.  Please note that a 6% late fee is applied each month to unpaid balances.
